Kindergarten When Beyond Basic Learning changed its name to Beyond Basic Learning: The International School, not only did that characterize the diversity of children enrolled representing over 20 countries, it also highlighted one of BBL’s core values: To serve as a cultural bridge for children and parents not only to their native lands, but to other diverse cultures as well.
Beyond Basic Learning serves as a scholastic link to primary education by offering a Kindergarten program. From its inception in 2002, BBL has delivered on its commitment to deliver high quality education and will forge ahead with an unequivocal commitment to prepare and transition children into grade school.
Curriculum Approach: The emphasis is on fostering a community based approach to teaching with a strong emphasis on social and cognitive development. Children learn relevant terms related to their study focus be it the botanist making sure the plants are watered, measuring their growth, and documenting their observations using a variety of materials or the Chef baking bread while learning about measurement tools and patience. Or perhaps the child is posing as an architect constructing in the block area while looking at the Manhattan skyline from their windows to inspire their work. These are the inspirations that they draw from to build and we are also committed to encase our study areas with a rich exposure to math, science, and technology. Kindergarten students benefit from small classes. As a way of instilling a sense of self and confidence we have introduced other activities such as piano classes, soccer and museum exploration at no additional cost to you. We strive to provide a lasting experience for families and boasts of many former students accepted to programs around the world creating a truly global community at Beyond Basic Learning: The International School. After Kindergarten: BBL: The International School partners with families to support the child’s transition to elementary school by hosting a BBL member-only event where families have the opportunity to speak with alumni and gain the advantage of practical insight into the application process of other private, public, and charter schools. BBL assists families to successfully enroll their children in schools both in the local community nationally or abroad. Kindergarten for Working ParentsOur kindergarten program is designed with working parents in mind. Enroll your child in a school where they will use state-of-the-art technology, enjoy the outdoor park, and study at the museum. Our Kindergarten is designed for children who have attended an early childhood program.
