Beyond Basic Learning's philosophy is designed to provide a developmentally appropriate program that stimulates learning in every child in a way that is Natural, Nurturing, and Fun!

Naturally: The best learning takes place when the child is part of the discovery. Beyond Basic Learning has designed an environment that integrates  community into the classroom to stimulate the child's natural desire to learn.  Views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline serve as one canvas from which the children extract ideas for their own creative expressions through the use of colors, words, music and much more.

Nurturing: The best learning occurs when children feel secure to explore their unlimited potential and gain the confidence to assert it. Beyond Basic Learning's nurturing environment supports the child's social interaction and emotional development. Within a confident child lie the roots for the love of learning.

Fun: The best learning happens when children are given ample time to play, for play is a FUNdamental part of the way they learn. Children interpret their world by playing where they use language, problem solving techniques, collaboration, and many other skills.  Through play, the classroom is transformed to reflect real world settings such as supermarket stands, flower beds, boating docks and other environments that surround the child's daily experiences.  These encounters extend their imagination to new possibilities.
